25th Anniversary of the first Saturday State premier honors

2018 sees the 25th anniversary of the first Saturday State premier honors .The team of the season was RCFC PREMIER YOUTH (20s) .Winning the Saturday Premier youth league and the Saturday Top 4 cup.

(1993) A first in RCFC HISTORY

BACK IN 1993 THE LEAGUE WAS CALLED( PSL) PROFESSIONAL SOCCER LEAGUE.THE YOUTH 20s was allowed 3

Over age players on the park at one time and maximum of 5 on the match card

Coach mike Tetlow recalls and believes the system was an excellent way to develop the younger players playing  alongside experience semi-pros.

Rd1 P13 W7 D5 L1 19pts.

Rd 2 P13 W11 D 0 L2  22pts.

It was a great  season P26 W18 D5 L3 pts 41.

Our last league game was home to Stirling Macedonia we needed a win to guarantee to be crowned  Saturday Premier  league youth champions we played like true champion's  wining 5-0

Dowling st erupted with joy and the party went on to the early hours.

The following  Sunday we played in the Saturday Premier league Top 4 cup.

Our opponent's on the day was North Perth Croatia  the game was a hard fought encounter   with both teams having opportunities  to win the  silverware the 90 minutes  score was 1-1 and  the game went into a penalty  shoot out which didn't  start to good for Rocky missing the first one but the hero of the day was Rocky gk Phil Jackson  saving 3 penalties  and yes scoring  the winner Rocky winning 8-7 securing silverware  number 2 in the space  of one week. The Trophies and medals  sit proudly  in the clubs cabinet .

The 1993 season was a season of  top class  football and great achievement. 

Nice to see Carlos Almedia still involved  with the  club 25 years ago he was banging them in.
