Rockingham City are pleased to announce that Sam McKearnen has signed ahead of the 2019 National Premier League WA season.
Speaking on joining Rockingham, McKearnen said, “I am really excited to have joined Rocky and am looking forward to the 2019 season. I can already see the togetherness of this group, and what a great bunch of lads that are here. The facilities are absolutely top class as well! McKearnen reflected on his lengthy layout with injury and his excitement of playing once again, “I have been out for two years with an injury, and Cam has offered me the chance to play again which I am grateful for. I am very excited to be back training again in preparation for the upcoming season.”
Rockingham City first team coach Cameron Lord spoke highly of McKearnen, “I saw Sam prior to his initial injury whilst he was with the Perth Glory NYL squad, and am looking forward to integrating him into the side and assisting him with getting back to the high levels I know he can get to. The mental toughness he has shown in the past two years to get to the stage he is at now is a huge credit to Sam for his work ethic and desire to play. He has already shown his quality in few training sessions, and I know he has more to give as he gets more training sessions and games under his belt. Knowing what he has been through, it is pleasing to see him back doing what he enjoys so much!”
Welcome to Rockingham City Sam!
